Here are the answers to all our most commonly asked questions. If you don’t find the answer you’re looking for, please feel free to contact us directly, and we will answer your inquiry as soon as possible.

Q: Are yacht charter rates subject to VAT?

A: VAT varies depending on the cruising area. The Charterer shall at all times be liable to pay for the VAT amount applicable by Law at the time the charter is executed. The VAT rates are the ones applicable by current tax legislation and cruising ground and are subject to change without prior notice or responsibility on the Broker, the Stakeholder, or the Owner. The current VAT rate for yacht charters in the East Mediterranean: Turkey is 18%, Greece 12%, and Croatia 13%. We will be happy to provide you with the latest information about the tax situation in your cruising area and a yacht if you aren't sure.

Q: What kind of insurance should I take out for my yacht charter?

A: All yachts are marine risk insured. Charterers are always advised to take out Cancellation and Curtailment insurance to protect their investment in case of unforeseen circumstances that might prevent or curtail their charter. Additionally, all members of the charter party should consider taking out Medical and Personal insurance, as this is not included in the charter fee.

Q: What kind of water sports equipment is available on the yacht?

A: Most of our yachts come equipped with a variety of water sports equipment. However, please note that the list of equipment is subject to change at short notice and cannot be guaranteed. Our goal is to make sure you can enjoy all the provided equipment with maximum safety for you and those around you. Keep in mind that the use of certain water craft (such as jet-skis and wave runners) may be restricted in certain cruising areas and you may need to have an appropriate license. If you're interested in scuba diving, please note that in the East Mediterranean (especially in Turkey and Greece), there are controls in place to protect underwater antiquities. In these areas, you'll need to dive with local and licensed diving instructors.

Q: Can you recommend an itinerary for my yacht charter?

A: Absolutely! We'd be happy to recommend one of the best itineraries for you, taking into consideration your time availability. You'll enjoy the personalized assistance of our charter experts and the bespoke itineraries they create just for you. However, please keep in mind that the itinerary is subject to change due to weather conditions or any other unpredictable factors. The Captain's decision is always final when it comes to the safety of the passengers and the yacht, in accordance with safety regulations.

Q: Is there a gratuity for the crew?

A: Crew gratuities are discretionary, and it's customary for charterers who have enjoyed the attentive service of the crew to extend a gratuity. Gratuities usually range from 5% to 15% of the total charter fee, but you can adjust the amount based on your level of satisfaction. One of the best ways to make sure all crew members receive equal recognition is to entrust the distribution of gratuities to the Captain.

Q: Can I bring my pet on board?

A: This depends on the yacht and the policies of the owner. Some yachts may allow pets, while others may not. If you're interested in bringing a pet, please let us know, and we'll check with the yacht owner to see if it's possible.

Q: Are there any restrictions on the types of food or drinks we can bring on board?

A: This depends on the yacht and the policies of the owner. Some yachts may have restrictions on the types of food or drinks you can bring on board

Q: Is smoking allowed on board the yacht?

A: For safety reasons, smoking is not permitted inside the yachts, although it is allowed in open deck areas. However, this policy can vary from yacht to yacht, so it's always best to consult with us to verify individual restrictions.
