Charter Guide - Let Us Take Care Of You
When it comes to chartering a luxury yacht, there are a lot of things to consider, but our experienced charter brokers are here to guide you every step of the way.
From answering your initial inquiry to completing your charter, our team is dedicated to providing you with the best advice and support.
Once you've selected your yacht from our portfolio and confirmed your dates and ports, you'll receive a charter agreement to sign. Luxury crewed yachts in the Mediterranean primarily operate under MYBA terms and are quoted on a “plus expenses” basis. The charter rate includes the hire of the yacht with all its equipment, crew, yacht’s laundry, cleaning materials, essential operating consumables, crew’s wages and food, and insurance of the yacht and crew.
However, the charter rate does not include fuel for the yacht’s engines and generators, food and beverages for the charter guests, berthing fees, customs charges, fuel for tender & water toys, onboard communication fees, guest laundry, shore transportation, VAT, delivery/redelivery fees (if applicable), crew gratuity, and other expenses that may occur.
You'll also need to pay an Advance Provisioning Allowance (APA) to cover expenses not included in the charter rate. This deposit is usually 30% of the charter fee and is given to the yacht's Captain before your embarkation to purchase fuel, food, and other supplies. At the end of your charter, the Captain will provide a full account of all expenses, and you'll either be refunded any unused funds or asked to cover any additional costs.
Charter rates are typically quoted weekly, with discounts available for longer charters. High season rates apply to popular months like July and August, while low season rates are available for other times. Delivery and redelivery fees may be applied for charters starting or ending away from the yacht's home port.
A deposit of 50% of the total charter fee is due upon signing the agreement, with the remaining balance, APA, VAT, and any additional fees due 4 weeks before embarkation. Three weeks before embarkation, we'll ask you to complete a preference sheet outlining your food and drink preferences, flight details, recreational interests, and any special requests. This will help us and the yacht's crew ensure your charter is as smooth and enjoyable as possible.
During your charter, feel free to discuss any changes to your itinerary or provisions with the Captain at any time.
